slow network

i'm running 10.4.8 and have a windows 2003 server. I can connect to it fine, but transfering files is really, really slow. Is there a fix for this or a tweak. thanks

What medium are you using to connect and how slow are we talking? 🙂

its a wired network, 100mbps, not sure on specific speed, but just browsing folders on the server is slow. not snappy like it should be. all my linux machines have no problem when transfering files with the server

Okay, well maybe test the speed with a largish file transfer and use Activity Monitor or some equivalent to gauge outright speed.
