Hi all,

I, like many others, suffer from a slow shutdown, even though boot up remains very fast.

After looking through various console logs after shutdown, the seem problem seems to keep occurring:

24/08/12 5:31:03.013 PM com.apple.launchd[1]: (com.apple.coreservices.appleid.authentication[135]) Exit timeout elapsed (20 seconds). Killing

Anyone with more experience with the guts of OS X have any clue what the conflict could be? I presume it's something to do with my user account (I only have 1 account on the computer), but beyond that I'm kind of perplexed.

Can you deactivate the service and see if your shutdown problem goes away? Anyone help with this?

I don't seem to have that service active in useable mode with my machine. Must be a shutdown/startup thing that gets triggered.

Can you post this over on Apple Support forums? Here's an existing thread - maybe you might want to start a new one as well as contribute to this one?
