Slow start up and safe boot

Hey guys my 2010 15" MBP has been recently starting up really slow or has been on its own going into safe boot mode. Is there a problem that I need to look at or is there something I can do to fix it?

I also have not been touching the keyboard during startup, I know that would sometimes set off safe boot mode.

Please help guys.
