Lately I’ve been having slow wifi speeds on my iPhone (8mbps) but my iPad pro on the same wifi network would get 80mbps. I’ve tried reseting the network settings and rebooting the router, but still getting the same performance.

Anyone got any ideas?

Different Wi-Fi routers support different radio modes, so the setting varies depending on the router.

Generally, we enable support for all modes. Then, the device can automatically select the fastest commonly supported mode for communication. Selecting a subset of available modes will prevent certain devices from connecting. For example, 802.11ac devices cannot connect to Wi-Fi routers in 802.11n only mode. In addition, selecting a subset of the available modes may interfere with old networks nearby, and old devices nearby may interfere with your network.

Doesn’t really answer my problem though. Both iPhone 11 Pro and iPad Pro 2018 are connected to the same wifi network. I have a Tri-band router, and I’ve tried doing the speed test on all 3 networks. All give pretty much the same results.
