I use MacBook Air (end of 2010), CPU 1,86 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, storage 2 GB.

Lately he started really let me down - slow, long open tabs in Google Chrome. Someone suggested that I use Safari. Yes, he was working a little better. But still, I want to know why? Perhaps the case in memory? Is it possible to zoom in on this model?

The 2 GB RAM is a likely cause. You can check for sure by going into Activity Monitor and clicking the Memory tab. If the graph is red, you know you have a problem.

Unfortunately the RAM in an Air can't be upgraded, you're stuck with what you have. But you can try to limit the apps/tabs you have open and that should help.
