They’re selling plenty… companies who provide work phones, people who want an updated version of their old iPhone, first time iPhone users etc are all given an entry point at a “cheap” price point.
Great, yeah a work phone with appalling battery life. I don’t think it appeals as a first time iPhone either, at this point most people will have had several smartphones so if they are coming from Android and get an SE it would be like going back in time by 10 years

I was wondering if we might see apple alternate between the mini and the max year over year on the "standard" iPhone, and stick with the regular and max versions for the Pro models.

So we would have the 13 mini, 14 max, 15 mini this fall, 16 max next fall, etc. If they were going to do that I would think we would have seen a rumor by now, so I'm not sure they see enough demand to do something like that. Especially if they keep the SE around for the smaller/less expensive iPhone customers.

My wife uses an SE as both a work and personal phone, she’s on it all the time, the battery is fine!

Never say never.

I personally believe Apple accounts for a certain refresh lifecycle amongst its various class of users For example they have some data that shows an average iPhone user keeps their phone for 3 years (that’s made up, just using it as an example), therefore the class of user that wants a small factor phone would hold onto their 13 mini for 3 years before looking for a replacement. So I predict a small form factor to come back in the future. In the meantime, the mini form factor takes a break since there would few if any sales as the current lot of mini lovers are still within their ownership cycle. Same logic that applied to the incremental iPhone -> S variants. iPhone 3 owners would go to iPhone 4, while iPhone 3S owners would wait it out for iPhone 4S

remember how the original iPhone SE came out of nowhere to save the life of iPhone 5 lovers After a bit of time?

id guess some future iPhone SE in a 13 mini body in a few years, or a new small form factor phone

Yeap. I bought my iphone 11 new from carrier - it is produced in sep 2022. This leads me to believe that they are still making 11 shells somewhere in India - next SE might cater big phone lovers as a cheap SE. Only when those are done we might see 13 mini as an SE.

you can also slide the bar on the bottom left and right to move between apps - the long missed feature while owning SE.
Would you believe me if I told you that, this particular one, is the number one feature that makes me want an iPhone without a Home Button?

My number one with home button is Apple Pay straight from my pocket even without looking at my phone. With Face ID it is not so smooth.
Though double home button tap to switch apps seemed to long for me.
