I've been noticing this small problem sometimes with TetherMe. I'll be downloading a file when tethering via bluetooth and all of a sudden the download will just stop at 0.0 kbps and won't start again until I restart the tethering process.

I sort of have this problem tethering with USB, but it doesn't happen as often.

Also, my speeds are like 3 times faster when tethering via USB. Is that normal?

Any insight is appreciated.

bluetooth bandwidth is a fraction of that of wifi or via USB. due to bluetooth's range, that could be a factor in why you're unable to complete large downloads. BT was designed specifically for personal area networking for device control and limited file transfers. there are a number of reasons why you could be having problems, but environmental is most likely and the first place to start.

and since you experience the occasional issue while USB tethering, it's likely the site you're downloading from is experiencing issues. take note if the problem persists on the same sites with any pattern of frequency.

but for the best throughput speeds, it's best to tether using USB, with wifi being the second best alternative, and BT being the absolute last option... its only benefit is low power consumption compared to wifi, but at the expense of range and throughput.
