Just wondering, has anyone else received a SS watch with body scratches? Mine has two small scuff marks near the microphone port. I'm. It talking the general micro scratches stainless steel watches pick up, I think it's a proper blemish.

Anyone else?

Boy do I have a solution for you, OP:

That's easily polished out. Just rubbing against the band would probably scuff it up. There are many metal polishes made just for jewelry. It would only take a minute.

I'm not surprised. Getting an iPad, iPhone, or other device without some small marks is very difficult.

Very disappointing.

It's stainless steel. That'll happen. Every few years any stainless steel watch will get so scuffed up hat you'd want to bring it in to rebuff

That was my initial thought, that it wasn't a huge deal as I'll probably polish the watch eventually anyway. It just caught me off guard and I was looking for second opinions. :)

Don't make excuses.

For, perhaps $1000 it should be totally unmarked, new out the box.
There is NO EXCUSE for it to be otherwise.

If it was $49 you may think, well it's cheap so I guess I'll put up with some marks, but not $1000.

I'd almost recommend anyone to set up their phone, or other video recording device and video themselves unboxing their watch, as you can be sure Apple are going to say you did it, if you go to a store and show them marks.

In case anyone wonders...................

We make items at my workplace out of Medical Grade Stainless Steel every day of the week and they are all hand polished.

Even one tiny spec of a mark will be rejected by our quality control and sent back for re-polishing before it's sent to the customer.

There is NO Excuse.

This is why I got the Sport. Any SS watch will scratch like this, unfortunate yours came scratched though.

I know. But op never said it came out of the box. For all we know, he could have been wearing that for hours.

I can photoshop that out for ya'?

I will buy it of off you. Same with new cars, once its off the lot, half price. So $150 without the band? If it really bother you.

I love my Apple Watch. I even name it "June" The first Apple invisible watch with lots of hairs on it.

From the sound of it most users are saying that the Genius Bar has a replacement stock. I'd notify Apple and request a replacement as it's close to when you received it.

Apparently everyone forgot what the back of their stainless steel iPods looked like after a few weeks. Welcome to the SS model.

Just in case I will definitely be recording my unboxing straight out of the closed ups box #

No worries, I think I ended up with a gimp in general. Seems to shut off every 90ish minutes or so and won't turn back on until plugged into the charger. Tried resetting, but no luck. It does this even at a full charge, happened 4x today.

Took it to the local Apple Store (Princesshay). Unfortunately they don't have any replacements so a courier will come pick it up tomorrow and they will send me a new one.

Ah well, bummer! At least I got to take the day off work!

If you makes you feel better I have some minor scuffs on the top of the case and the side under the crown. I have no idea how I could have caused them or whether the watch came like that.

I'm not too miffed though; I understand that this will happen eventually. It's just surprising to see on day one.
