Small SIM card stuck in sim slot....PLEASE HELP

So, my wife had an old iphone 5 from Sprint...I broke my Samsung (verizon) so she was going to give me HER Samsung and use her Iphone 5...... SO, I took out her SIM card tray and SIM card to see if the VZ SIM card would fit - and it didn't.... there were 2 parts....an outer tray/shell and a small SIMcard inside the VZ....

SO, while I was unaware....my wife took the SMALLER VZ SIM card and slides it in the Iphone 5 sim slot... without the tray....now it is stuck..... is there ANY way to get that sucker out???

Also, does she NEED the SIM tray (it's lost now lol).. im guessing she does. Is there somewhere to get another one?

If you can't poke it out you'll need to take the cover off, you'll have more access.

No SIM tray, no party! You could always pop into an Apple store and ask them.

yeah..i tried a paperclip to get in there but no dice....i was afraid i'd have open it - I really doubt i have that tiny screwdriver! lol Okay, thanks for your help~

If you need a new sim tray asap I'm sure one of the "fix it" kiosks in many malls will sell you one. Unsure how reasonable the price will be, but it's an option. You can grab them for about a buck or two online, but often that's going to be a 3 day shipment at the earliest.

As fast as getting it out, it's been said. I personally wouldn't go around poking in there blindly because there are pins that you could bend, and cause actual damage to the device. If you're headed to a fix it store anyway you might just see what they charge you to get it out the right way. Or... Have a go dismantling the phone yourself

You'll need to get a Torx driver off the internet, they're only cheap. It will say on that iFixit page what the size is ie T3/T5.

If I read your story correctly, there are two problems:
1. She stuck a sim into the iPhone 5 slot without a sim tray.
2. She lost the specialized sim tray for her Samsung phone, and wonder where she could buy another.

Suggestions:
For 1, use a thin wire with a bent tip as a hook, and try to fish it out. If it doesn't work, go seek help from an Apple store.
For 2, eBay is probably the cheapest way.

Many Android phones are designed to have the sim cards "stuffed" into the slots without trays.
