While rumors have been circulating about a $100 price increase for both iPhone 15 Pro models, Taiwanese research firm TrendForce today predicted that the smaller iPhone 15 Pro will start at $999 in the U.S., just like the iPhone 14 Pro.

TrendForce believes that only the iPhone 15 Pro Max will cost extra. The research firm predicted that the device will start at $1,199 in the U.S., which would be a $100 price increase compared to the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The device is expected to exclusively feature a periscope lens that enables up to 6x optical zoom, double the current limit.

Despite predicting a price increase for the Pro Max model this year, TrendForce expects that the device will continue to start with 128GB of storage, rather than 256GB as previously rumored. On the other hand, the research firm expects both iPhone 15 Pro models to be equipped with 8GB of RAM, up from 6GB in the iPhone 14 Pro models.

Time will soon tell if TrendForce is accurate with its latest predictions, as Apple will unveil the iPhone 15 series at its event on Tuesday, September 12 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time. Stay tuned for in-depth coverage of Apple's announcements next week.

Seems unlikely. The main issue is the gap between the mainstream and Pro models is too small. Right now, it's only $200. Apple needs to increase the gap to at least $300. Otherwise, based on the high demand for the Pro models, they're leaving money on the table.

$1,099 - 6.1"
$1,199 - 6.7"

I don't doubt it'll still start at 128GB though. The margins on NAND are just too juicy to give up.

What is the deal with Sep 12th? As far as i remember Apple doesn't touch RAM in their slides and we left until Sep 22 to get hands-on from anyone?

Right?! Apple will probably change to 256GB minimum with the iPhone 17 lol.

Couple of times since getting 14 pro max back in July, Iwished I went with 500 gig instead of 250 gig but finally realized, “hey, I can always just airdrop to my MacBook and shoot whatever over to an external hard-drive and still pay less than upgrading to a 500 gig iPhone”.

But yes I agree, 250 should be standard given 4k and raw and all the content that can be downloaded nowadays instead of streaming, plus a few games, voice memos and all the downloadable Apple Music.

Plus, pmaybe it’s just me but over time, if the storage space gets real close to being full then the iPhone performance seems to suffer some, almost as if storage space = RAM if that makes sense…well at leas that was my experience back during the iPhone 8 days maybe it’s changed since then..

That would make sense to me. There is no innovation. So why should people upgrade? There are only thing s that are „nice to have“ like new sony camera lenses, a new CPU and finally an USB-C port.

Smartphone sales decrease. Apple could increase the price point if there would be a foldable iPhone. But there is not, only thing Apple has to offer is YAP - yet another phone.

They are making two screens for the Iphone Pro? How big was the screen on the Iphone 14+? Now I'm confused about what Apple is doing and what I should get. I've been leaning towards the pro mainly because I worry that it will be a long wait to get the Pro Max, but but the Pro was supposed to be a step down from the Pro Max and it sounds like it might be more than that. I remember when the Verizon guy said why am I downgrading from the Samsung S21+ to the 14+, now I'm wondering if I'm going to downgrade to the Pro because of screen size.

MacRumors,

Get your article straight. I reread the article after I posted the above and the headline was confusing. Why would they be making 2 versions of the Iphone Pro? Didn't make sense.

If the price stays the same you can tell it like clockwise that they will start with 128gb (which isn’t enough anno 2023) but for me it would do the trick. Currently still rocking the X 64gb and I still have like 26gb free.

Yeah “Smaller” is not needed in the title, and is actually inaccurate since there is only one iPhone Pro. The larger phone is iPhone Pro Max.

I'm all for more storage given the prices of this hardware, but I haven't been able to fill up much more than half of the 128 GB I have on my current iPhone. Is this a problem for everyone else?
It’s definitely a problem for me. Local iPhone storage is below. 302.1GB.

In addition, 1TB iPhone can no longer hold the iPhone Data solely. I really hope Apple increases the iCloud+ Storage cap. They need to offer it to 4GB at least. Hopefully, next week, we get an announcement for that as well.
