I'm gonna to be honest here, I don't see any good points about cloud system.

Sure you have one place where you have all your stuff and it works well on online webmail services, but the consumers will never own anything again. Companies will quickly go to "We have a new product, if you pay us, we will borrow it to you."

The Apple TV was pointless device outside the US and UK or countries that don't have Movies or Tv Series or Netflix service doesn't work. Now the new Apple TV device is even more useless, because the other one at least to keep home made movies, now it is all streaming.

Sorry, first of all Cloud system is not the future and never will unless we costumers abdicate of the power the we possess of owning stuff, which is unlikely. I'm not a living in the last century, i'm quite a futuristic kind of a guy.

For me I would have much more interest in Apple making an Iphone that is super fast, has the double of storage and even more autonomy, half the price that they (apple and carries) practice.

Well if in Star Trek the entire computer system of their ship was based cloud, the people on board Voyager would have dead weight on their hands when they where sent to other side of galaxy with no communications. it is an example based on fiction, I know that.

And I really hope the iPhone 5 is available in 64GB.

I'm glad to see someone else post this. Rather than getting a smaller iPhone with less memory, I'd be happy with the same form factor with more memory. I find myself starting to limit the music I put on my iPhone because of the apps (mostly games for my kids, but I have some useful stuff, too!). Videos are on an as-needed basis now. And I know that 32GB should be enough, but I was very happy over the past couple years that I wouldn't go on a trip and realize the song I really wanted to listen to was at home.

I still think an iPhone 4S type of upgrade (e.g., same form factor, faster processor, back-end updates, etc.) would be enough for me, though I know that my wants aren't the same as others'. I'm ok with that, but I hope that my wants are similar enough to make it reasonable for Apple to meet...:)

That being said, would there even be a market for someone to take an iPhone 4 and upgrade the memory to 64GB? I imagine there would be a small after-market niche that could be met.

no onboard storage = no music on my tube commute to work

Exactly - that's why an iPhone nano wouldn't appeal to you! Why are people having so much trouble understanding that this idea is NOT FOR EVERYONE?? If you want apps and music and video and lots of storage, there's a product for you - the iPhone!

There are some out there who DON'T want a smart phone, don't store music on their phone, don't want apps, and really just want a PHONE. I don't necessarily think Apple is going to come out with such a product, but if they did, TRY, just try, to understand that it's not for everyone!

Giving reasons why you don't want it is like saying a 911 Carrera is ridiculous because it only has two doors and you have a family of five! If that's the case, the 911 isn't made for you!

exactly! people think that just bc it doesn't apply to them then it doesn't apply to anyone!!!

not sure why this is rocket science for some.

The reason people don't understand it is the rumoured phone is an iPhone with almost every USP removed.

Using your analogy, it's like selling a pedal-bike as a "911 Carrera"* :p

(* two wheels only. No engine included. One occupant only. Frame only, no body surface. No wheel, handlebars only. No radio/CD player. Zero emissions.)

naw it'd have an engine, how else would the phone turn on? it'd just be like making the car a 2 door car with no backseat and no turbo. the big iphoners want a back seat with a turbo engine. NOT all people need those options. :)

seriously, why is this so difficult? look at the ipod touch and imagine phone capabilities on that.

why do you think there are 4 different models of ipods? why not make one insanely bada$$ one and say it applies to everyone?

Yes, but it's not 2007 anymore. Now the App Store does exist, and it's inseparable from the iPhone's current concept/marketing/success. You can't go backwards.

I agree. A new iPhone not supporting the App Store would be a bad idea.

I believe that cloud-based content is not an option in many places still, so if the small iPhone relies on that, it'd be a big mistake by Apple.
