Is the Apple smart case better than invision smart case? Is it much lighter than the invision?

I returned my Smart Case because it was a loose fit around the top edge.

I get much better results from an Apple Smart Cover for the front and an Incipio Feather Ultralight Hardshell Case for the back.

Smart case is good

Since I've never used an invision case I can't really argue for or against it, I just know I love my red smart case. It's great and a genuine Apple product. The :apple: on the back makes it cool too.

just beware that this setup (incipio with Smart Cover) will not prevent damage from drops. My ipad had dented corners that I had no idea where they came from (no obvious drops) and yesterday I scratched the screen.

I'm not sure any shell/smart cover combo is any better.
I like the smart cover/shell combo though to hold. I'm going to start carrying my ipad with smartcover in a sleeve.

Dunno if it helps but I'm using my product red genuine Smart Cover with a carbon fiber hard back case, I'm going to post a pic so you guys can see it.

It protects it pretty good, haven't had an issue.

No it doesn't, the only noticeable weight comes from the smart case and again is not a lot... The carbon fiber weights roughly 1.5 ounces

Here's what I said in another post about the smartcase..

Yes the smart case is a hit and miss, many DO NOT FIT. But if you're like me just go to your apple store with your ipad and try a few if you really want to give it a shot.
Fortunately for both my wife and I our smart cases fit pretty much perfectly and we both love them as they keep to the slim factor, and they provide good grip.

Please note this: That sharp edge do get uncomfy depending on how you hold it, and I was a strong believer that this was a very dumb and pointless design flaw until one day I dropped the ipad on my hard wood floor, edge first, I observed the unit bounce. After picking it up and being conviced that my ipad was surely cracked to bits, it wasn't as that sharp edge design served as a BUMPER. Just know there is a method to their maddness.

Per Ish post above: Most all these combos provide absolutely no drop protection, you drop it on its side you got a nasty dent or a cracked screen, the smart case, however uncomfortable gives you a bumper to help prevent that in the event you drop it.

The smart case weight, well to me its so slim that I can't tell the difference between it being on or off my ipad. However I could with my old Invelope case. (which is very nice by the way)

I personally enjoy my red smart case, the loose fit as mentioned above is only so that you can remove it, but in my case at least, the crease that would show the looseness is pretty much hidden.
I like that the Smart case has semi soft edging to it, so if I did drop it, it would have at least a little bit of protection. Never really though about combining cases/covers.
