Hi guys!

I noticed the Smart Connector on my rose gold 9.7" Pro is silver, when on the Apple site the images show it colour-matched.

Are the Photoshopped Apple press images inaccurate or do I have a factory mess-up?

I would think that the connector points are conducting electrical currents, whether power or data. I would want bare metal for that, not anodized.

Anyone have a unit to hand to check? They are definitely colour-matched on my 12.9" Pro so wonder if the silver contacts are just on the smaller one.

Just got mine and yes it's not color matched

YOU NEED TO RETURN EVERY SINGLE ONE UNTIL YOU GET ONE THAT IS COLOR MATCHED. You deserve better than this. This isn't acceptable for such a high price Apple product.

Good to wake up to an array of mostly useless replies.

For anyone actually interested, after digging on YouTube videos it appears the space grey, silver, and gold Pros have colour-matched connectors, while the rose gold has a silver one for some reason.

You seem concerned about some microscopic dots that would be hidden when attached to a keyboard anyway. What did you expect? If they don't match who cares 99.9% of the time I don't even bother looking for those 3 pins and even if I did I would not find having a different color bothersome enough to warrant research on this non-issue.

What's next counting the speaker grille holes and finding out two holes are missing on the left side vs the right?

That's fine, I'll run things by you in the future to see if they warrant attention.

People like you are ruining this forum. Five years ago several members would reply constructively. Instead, irreverent nonsense like yours. Such phenomena are relevant to many Apple enthusiasts.

I don't think you used the correct term: enthusiast in your posting. You should substitute the word with: OCD/Entitlement instead.

If you have a problem with the microscopic dots not the same color then go to the apple store and return it. Starting a thread about this is just a waste of resources and not only that how is this even relevant to any real Apple enthusiast? I buy an apple product to use not to look for problems which there are many threads always searching for some kind of fault in an apple product.

Either return it or buy one that has matching color. Sleep at night knowing you did good.
