Smart cover/Screen Protector combo necessary?

The smart cover is great, but is it good enough to protect the glass from scratches? How many people use a smart cover & screen protector combo?

I went a year with the first iPad and never had any scratches. I think if you're reasonably careful careful, the smart cover should be fine. If you do decide to get a screen protector, make sure it's clear or the crystal type. I did try an anti-glare protector to help prevent fingerprints, but it dulled the screen making it significantly less brilliant.

Are their any brands equivalent to power support? I tried invisible shield and hated it
