SMART ERRORS on install but not in smartmon?

Not sure if this is a Big Sur error or a problem with my Mini?

I tried installing Big Sur but it will not let me because of SMART errors. Running smartmon from brew reports the drive is fine.

Has anybody else encountered this? Suggestions?
