I'm interested in something like the Smart Folio for iPad Pro/iPad Air 4, but the $79 retail price seems like highway robbery. Have any of you had good experiences with any particular alternatives?

To be clear, I'm looking for this type of case -- i.e., one that attaches magnetically to the back and doesn't have sides. The reason I prefer this style is that I plan to also use a Magic Keyboard and want to be able to very quickly move from one to to the other.

I got Apple smart folio in deep navy. 80 is steep but I feel like it was a worthwhile invest for one that looks and feels great, fits perfectly, and (slightly) protects my new iPad.

The smart folio are decent quality BUT mine showed the metal underneath the outer coating out of the box, it’s only a small spec what isn’t covered by the silicon material.

Likely will get worse over time, Apple said it’s general wear and tear and wouldn’t replace it either.

Apple seriously need to change the material they use on the folio/magic keyboard

I'd like to know this too.

Has any one tried the Apple version and an alternative such as Moko or Ztotop? OP, these brands seem to be some of the alternatives available on amazon. My only issue is that many times i go for these alternatives but then end up getting the original anyway which does last longer and feels better. do they feel 3-4 times better? no. but still better.

If anyone has experience in the others would be good to know.

I’m using WIWU Smart Folio, it’s around 15 USD.
It is the cheapest one I can find on my local (Indonesian) online market place.
I think it is similar to the ESR branded, available on the Amazon.

It is great for the price. It even has a Pencil flip cover with magnets as well.
I was worrying that the Pencil flip cover would not being compatible with my CoverBuddy back case with a Pencil slot on it, but it even turns out working fine.
