iPad Pro Smart Keyboard and Smart Folio

is there any cross compatibility between the 2? Eg Smart Keyboard on new iPads, or smart folios on old iPads?

All indications suggest otherwise, but I cannot find an authoritative answer on Google.

Of course there isn’t, the Smart Connector is placed totally differently for starters. The Smart Folio adheres to the rear of the new iPad Pro with magnets facing out the rear that aren’t present on the current Pro, and even if that weren’t the case, they aren’t the same physical size.

The physical size doesn’t matter - for example the larger Smart Keyboard can be used on the smaller iPad Pros.

However I suspected as much regarding the connector, although Apple does not say so explicitly. That’s actually very disappointing - it makes any upgrade path extremely expensive.
