The Command key is the one with the ⌘ on it, to the left of your spacebar. It functions in much the same way that the Ctrl key does in Windows (CMD+C copies, CMD+V pastes, etc.). There are lots of CMD+key combos that you can use to do stuff in OS X and iOS; for example, CMD+Shift+H in iOS will take you to the Home screen; CMD+Spacebar will take you to search (in OS X the same combo opens Spotlight).

If you hold the CMD key for a few seconds, in apps that support it, a little menu of possible shortcuts will appear. Give it a shot! Learning basic CMD key combos makes navigating the OS and firing off certain functions a lot easier.

The command key is a godsend. However, as ZombiePete noted, only apps that support that functionality will have this ability. Hopefully more apps will update to support the command function, but only time will tell.

And one more use: Command+Tab shows a Mac-style app switcher. Press tab again to select the next app.

And, the same feature but not immediately obvious: Just taping and immediately releasing Command+Tab will switch to the previously-used app. Useful for flicking between two apps, e.g. Mail and Safari, where you don't want to use Split View. :)

Woah, nice. Just like OSX.

The command key for OS X / iOS is much like the CTRL key or Windows key on Windows machine.

Long press the command key on iPads with iOS 9 you will see what shortcut keys you will be able to do with it.
