On my Magic Keyboard, I can "delete" but putting the cursor at the beginning of the text to be deleted and press Fn+Delete. This deletes whatever is to the right of the cursor.

Is this completely impossible to do when typing on the Smart Keyboard (it doesn't have a Fn key)? Or is there some other way to do it?

The ASK has a delete key.

The OP clearly states that he is looking to delete "text to the right of the cursor", and you two rehash the fact that the delete key (which acts as a "backspace" key) is the key he's looking for.

Unfortunately, I have the same issue and don't believe this can be done. I usually use the arrows to navigate over to the right of the letter I want to delete and then use the delete key to delete the letter(s) to the left.

Sorry. I actually wanted to delete my post, I really wasn't trying to be snarky.
There doesn't seem to be a delete post option, at least one I don't see.

I apologize if it came off as such.

Thanks, everyone, for confirming. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. I just use that function a lot on my MacBook so I guess I'll just have to get used to a little bit of a different approach on my iPad Pro. Thanks!

Does your delete key make a different sound than the rest of the keys when pressed? Mine makes a clicking sound whereas the rest are very muted.

I know that on my wireless Apple keyboard the FN+Delete gives a "delete" ability. I'm assuming that, if apple didn't include any Function keys on the ASK, that there's no FN key, right? Surely they still included the ability to do it with some other keyboard key combination?

That's the big question! Since there is no FN key, there's no way to perform the shortcut. So far I've found no substitute shortcut, either. Bummer!

We should all go to the apple.com/feedback page and request the addition of a true delete key functionality on the ASK. Control+D SHOULD work, but it doesn't.
