I'm going to be honest, this thing looks hideous and I don't want this attached to my residence. I would prefer something more discreet. But the features are nice. 1080 P is a selling point for me as well.

Well, as it will in most cases replace some cheapo Par38 floor light, it may still be an upgrade.

As fast as these are coming out I don't know if I'll ever fill comfortable buying something. Seems like the day after I purchase something there will be something better. Gotta love technology.

My current plan is Rong doorbell with Nest Cams.
I have Blink cameras and they're great, and cheap as hell, but they don't have outdoor cams yet. They say its in development for a tentative release by the end of December. I use the current ones outside (covered) but I have to bring them in when its really cold during winter.

Looks like a great product. Not that creepy Nest cameras that gives Google access to your home.
Can you tell me please what Google do with the footage that they capture? I mean do they sit there watching it themselves or put it on YouTube or something?
Links please, not BS forum banter or anecdotes..

………...Yep, thought not.

Installation requires a lot of work...

My homeowner association also would not let me replace current fixture with this one... oh well...

The problem is not what probably happens (nothing) but what it CAN be done. IF they want, they can give access to some government, a rogue employee can access or be hacked.

Encryption should be end to end.

Are you sure?

Im sure it looks like a great product. It has plenty of functions (including light, sensors, timelapse...). Doesn't charge membership and has zero-knowledge server (the company respects users privacy).

I don't have one so I cannot be sure. But I would read the contract before buying.

This is a cool system. A bit pricey to get installed in a larger facility perhaps. I'm kind of looking into this stuff a little now as I'm a building manager and have been asked to get a security camera system installed, but we need about 15 cameras...

Building management is tough. Unless all buildings are networking by fiber, or you're getting outside IPs, it's hard to bring into a uniform system. You can pay monthly by EagleEye or Genetech. Look them up. Just hook the camera up to the internet and it gets added. If you're in the northeast, let me know and I can have my company get you a great deal.

We have the Netatmo weather station and it's sleek, the app itself is extremely well made and the indoor/outdoor modules seem very good as well
