I've been searching everywhere on line, and really surprised I can't find a smart plug for this design of an air-conditioner plug. I don't need a thermostat or anything fancy like that; just hoping for remote on/off functionality and, ideally, scheduling.

Does anyone have one to suggest, or know where I can find one (or three)?

I’m not seeing any plug-in type adapters for a 20A outlet - the only option I see is to replace the outlet itself, e.g. with this.

Thanks. Looks decent, but more work and money than I was hoping for. Is it a power-load issue that makes regular smart plugs unavailable for this usage?

if you can live without home kit then maybe. I had one it was either for ac or outdoor. but it was for smartthings but I cant even find that now. Now if it has remote you maybe able to control it that way.

Yes, @steve knight , I'd be fine with a plug that just has its own app-- but can't find that either.
yep seems they are all gone. I bought one a few years ago but now nope nothing available. with a tiny bit of wiring you can get a 120v relay and use any smart switch to turn it on and off and the ac is plugged into that. you would take a 120v cord from the plug cut the ends off and hook the wire to each side of the relay. then you take a 120v cord from the relay to the wall and a female plug to the other end. the smart switch connects the relay and power flows. I used that in my shop to control things with remote switch.

Thanks for the advice. This really surprises me. I would think lots of folks would want a/c control.

I expect it’s just not enough demand. I’m 55 years old and I’ve seen devices that use a 20A plug like that only a few times in my life.
