SMB Guest Access on 10.7.3

Does anyone know if the SMB guest access was supposed to be fixed in 10.7.3 ?
I tried it and I still get prompted for a user name/password when connecting from Windows 7 PC.

You kids these days. It SHOULD work like that for security reasons. Do you want anyone in your house/on the internet just to SMB to your Mac?

but true, you should be prompted for authentication.

one way around this is to use the same username/password on both machines. Windows will try to authenticate with its current u/p against the mac, and will gt access if it is the same.
