Hey

Could really do with some expert advice 🙂

I have a Windows 2008 R2 server which has a shared drive serving content via SMB to my MacBook Late 2008 over Gigabit Ethernet.

I've tested copying files back and forth and even though the MacBook has a SSD so no bottle neck there, the transfer rates fluctuate around ~30MB/sec and may start higher around 55MB/sec dropping rapidly 😱

I've tried a Windows to Windows machine and it sustains higher speeds thoruhgout the transfer process 🙁

I've tried the following command but it hasn't helped much

sudo sysctl -w net.inet.tcp.delayed_ack=0

Anyone got any tips n tricks maybe? 😕

Thanks guys 😀

SMB is a proprietary Microsoft network protocol. Why does it surprise you that it is faster on Windows than on the Mac?

Nothing which concerns Microsoft surprises me any more!

It was a little faster from Windows 2008 > Windows 2008.

I'm not overly concerned just thought someone else might have had this issue and found somewhat of a fix / improvement.
