I have followed the Apple Instructions to resetting the SMC, PRAM, and NVRAM and none of the function as the descriptions say e.g.: this image below says “press and hold the power button for 10 seconds then release” “the press the power button to turn on” however when I do this the Mac just turns on right away. Same with the “Hold Ctrl/Opt/shift wait 7seconds press and hold power for 7 more seconds, release and then turn the machine on” style. The machine just turns on as soon as I hit the power button.

So what am I doing wrong? Why isn’t this working? Or is it working, it’s just not fixing my issue (1 of 2 fans is running @ 7000rpms after a battery and fan replacement (separate thread on this forum))?

Any other advice for these types of resets?
Thanks in advance!

Wow that’s the first I’ve heard or read that anywhere, surprisingly not common knowledge . Thank you!

I know. Even everymac doesn’t seem to mention the T1 in the 2017 models for some reason.
What’s worse is not 1 of the 4 Apple Techs I spent 8 total hours for trying to trouble shoot, fix and ulitmatly set up and execute an apple repair mentioned it once! They even helped me try and try it again 😂
