SMC reset not working

Hi, Had a problem with my 27" iMac (early 2010) Everything was totally dead on pressing power button. Did SMC reset by removing power cable, holding power button down for 5 secs, put power cable back and then pressed power button and hey presto all worked. Moved machine to a different desk and now still completely dead after trying a number of resets. Power cable is live. Any ideas.

How would the OP do that to a dead iMac ??

If its not switching on at all then all you can do is take it back to Apple as it should still be under warrenty
