I installed SMCFan Control 2.3 on my MBP (2.66 GHz Core2Duo) and it was working perfectly fine, however after shutting down my laptop and turning it back on- the sliders now wont go below 4000 rpm, whereas the minimum is supposed to be Apple's default settings which is 2000 rpm. I'm getting increasingly frustrated with the noise of the fans even when my laptop is running cool.

I have tried rebooting my laptop tons of times, installing and uninstalling smcFan Control about 5 times already but nothing works. The sliders just simply dont go below 4000 rpm.

I would sincerely appreciate any help I can get
