SMS in Public Preview?

I have a brand new MacBook Air Primo 2014 and a 5S on iOS8. I think i will install Yosemite Public Preview, but will the new SMS function, so i can send SMS to NON-iPhone users work or ???

That won't be available until next month when Yosemite is shipped publicly.

The telephone Continuity feature does work right now though.

It stinks having SMS relay working in the beginning, and going back to not having it until October. You will enjoy it once Apple turns it back on.
