SMS not working

Not sure why, but on my Late 2011 MacBook Pro,

I can make calls from my mac, and iMessage on my mac.

But I cannot SMS from my mac and my mac doesn't receive my iPhone calls.

What is going on?

My roommate has the exact same issue.

Verizon iP6, rMBP, iPad Mini. All running the latest iOS/OSX.

My setup is identical (T-Mo) and all the features work perfectly.

Hope someone chimes in with a working solution.

try this:

in Contacts, make sure that the identification of "Type" of number is set up as mobile, not home, or work, or iPhone, or fax.
