SMS sync working with 4S?

Anyone here got SMS Sync working (with iPad or Yosemite) on a 4S? I'm hoping it uses iCloud instead of some bluetooth/AirDrop functionality so it should work then.

SMS Sync is definitely active in this beta.

So far only 1sms is visible I've tried to reply but get an error

Also I have a missing iMessages on yosimite the contacts from the history are there are but the actual messages are blank
