I’m so exhausted. I can’t text anyone, basically. iMessage to other Apple devices works fine but texting an android device almost always results in a failure, especially if I am sending a photo. Sometimes it’ll go through if I “try again” but I tried to text my stepmom pictures of my downed electrical line and I gave up after 8 failures and decided to send an email instead. My daughter has an s23 since android is more friendly toward parental monitoring, but half the time I can’t even text her. I pay way too much for this phone to not be able to send texts. What could I be missing?

Now that I read you I tried myself and same thing my sister has an android s21 fe and myself iPhone 11 and i can’t send or receive mms photos or anything only text , in my country we use whatsapp for that

It has happened to me pretty frequently recently, doesn’t happen all the time but it does it enough to be really annoying, makes me consider switching back to Android

It’s good but unfortunate that I’m not alone. This is driving me absolutely insane. I can use apps to message people but not my daughter, as I do not want to provide her with social media/an unmonitorable way to contact strangers. I’ve had an iPhone since day 2 of the first release in 2007 and this makes me incredibly angry. I know it would work just fine if I got an s23 ultra.

Could this be a carrier issue? I have zero issues sending text messages to android users when I have good signal. In the rare areas where I get poor signal, I’ve noticed the obvious issues of messages not sending.

Verizon is having major issues nationwide (United States) right now so that might be the issue.

Go to Settings > Messages and make sure "Send as SMS" is toggled on.

Been happening to me the last couple of days specifically. Not sure why. I thought about logging out and back in to messages, iCloud, phone, etc. but that's too much for right now.
