I am reposting this question here, from Ask Different (http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/209487/apple-mail-how-to-make-its-behavior-the-same-as-google-mail-smtp-from-anothe). No one responded yet, so I hope for some luck here...

I set up my GMail such that anyone who receives my mails will read From: my other address. This, however, does not apply when I am using Apple Mail, and I wonder what would be the proper way to make this behavior by default. So, I would like to send and receive my emails from GMail (it collects all my accounts), but when I am sending, I would like to have From: a specific address.

Many thanks, PM

So you'd like to change your 'from' address?

In that case in Apple Mail go to Preferences>Accounts>Account Information>Email Address

The email address there is used as your default 'from' address when sending mail.
