It’s not all or nothing. There are steps you can take. Use iOS; clamp down on all possible security settings; use 1BlockerX or similar; run 1.1.1.1 or OpenVPN; avoid all social networking apps like the plague they are; avoid like the plague all third party messaging apps, especially those owned by social networking companies (I’m looking at you, WhatsApp); avoid like the plague third party email apps; use a secure browser or, if you’re really paranoid, Red Onion; use DuckDuckGo or, better yet, Startpage as your search engine, avoiding Google like the plague; never click on an emailed link...never...”but what about from my...”...NEVER.Every couple of days, news of major breaches in service agreements and privacy "theft" rolls out in a continuous stream of blunders.
Face it Ladies & Gents- this whole "privacy" charade is meant for fools.
There's no privacy using these gadgets (or software)
You can find those answers on MacRumors' Privacy and Data Policy page, except for the "would you feel bad" question.Hey MacRumors, just curious, do you keep logs of IP Addresses of your User posts? Would you turn them over in a heartbeat if some gov't Agency waived some court paper at you. The answer to both I'm betting is Yes and Yes. Would you feel bad about it? Probably not.
Google at least hasn't been caught doing anything they promise not to do. From what I've heard, they have strict internal policies about accessing user data. But there have been suspicious glitches like Google Maps location tracking not really being disabled when you disable it."privacy is "paramount" at Snap"
Why am I not surprised? Google, Facebook, Snap etc.. are alle the same regarding your privacy it seems.
Google has tripped over privacy problems too, such as collecting wi-fi data without permission back in 2010. Sometimes we forgive a company for making an honest mistake and sometimes we fault them for purposely invading our privacy as a strategic effort.Google at least hasn't been caught doing anything they promise not to do. The secret mic in the Nest that turned it into a home assistant pissed me off, even though I don't own one. That's supremely arrogant. All in all, I still like their overall behavior better than Amazon's, FB's, and Snapchat's.Google has tripped over privacy problems too, such as collecting wi-fi data without permission back in 2010. The whole Silicon Valley pretty much don’t care about privacy. Apple is seemingly the only exception."privacy is "paramount" at Snap"

How so? Google enables Android to allow those information to be accessed by developers in the first place. How the dev deal with those information is not Google’s problem,Can android ban Snapchat for ACTUAL spying? We know it doesn't take much to ban a company even for an empty accusation.
I think that the MacRumors forums qualify as social media.
The HomePod is no different than your phone or iPad in that respect. I’d get one. I bought two and now I need a 3rd.What's sad is I wouldn't mind having an Apple HomePod to play some tunes in the Family room but my wife and I both agree the idea of possibly being recorded is too unnerving so we aren't buying one. Stories like this and others mentioned here just confirm our decision.
Of course we still have iPad, iPhones, and Macs, all of which can also record us with a little help from Apple and the NSA.
I see from your signature you have an iPhone; you do know it's listening to you 24/7 (Apple's point of view) because you might say "hey siri"It was only a matter of time until Snapchat fell in with the likes of FB and Insta. We all knew it would happen....Sigh......
Don't tell them this, but I have always left the "Hey Siri" feature off for that very reason.I see from your signature you have an iPhone; you do know it's listening to you 24/7 (Apple's point of view) because you might say "hey siri"
Yawn. Facebook did it first
This is why I have no social media accounts whatsoever, because I don’t trust the likes of Snapchat, Facebook, etc. I value my privacy, and at least I can say that Apple does as well, which is why they’re primarily the only company I trust with my information.

There’s no such thing as everything proof, but do these things and you’re vastly better off that if you didn’t.
"Use iOS" why? if you take all those measures what differenes does the OS make? It’s not all or nothing. There are steps you can take. apple is the worst on privacy, as they make you believe they honor it, but they give away your data to goldman sachs, fbi, and even hackers very easily without any protection at all
[doublepost=1558708893][/doublepost]Damn!!!okay starting next week I am going to stop sending pictures of my junk to people.
