Wow.

I am utter rubbish at snooker and it is one of the only games in the world that i watch at think that these guys are amazing. Just watching Ronnie O'Sullivan and the way he controls the que ball is just out of this world.

I play golf to a high standard so when you see the guys like Tiger Woods I know how it can be done, but the control and skill for snooker just amazes me. Respect to those guys.

All you have to do is just stand there and throw an arrow, every throw is the same, where as with snooker every shot is different. Darts is just pure repetition, and the ability to handle pressure!

No, no, no – you throw them at different parts of the board. You've got to be good at maths and everything.

And darts players are athletes – Sid Waddell said so, so it must be true. 🙂

My maths is fairly bad, but my mental addition and subtraction is awesome, and I credit that entirely to a wasted childhood of snooker and darts. 😀

I loves me some snooker, by the way. Somewhere there's a thread of me geeking off about the final, and others being less enthusiastic. 😛 I think I just like playing sports that suit being played in semi-darkness and where drinking beer and smoking enhance your game. 😉

But the screen might break!!
In fact I hear they're really dodgy and stop working all the time!!!
True enough.

Anyway, I'll put it like this... with apologies to all the non-Ukers here, what would you rather watch – Bullseye or Big Break? 😉

Snooker

Over the pond I think you have a similar game, billiards. It is also like a grown up version of Pool.

I don't really know the difference between pool, snooker, and "8-ball", but what I can tell you is that the shape of the pockets, and the amount of alcohol I have consumed, makes all the difference in the world to me when I play.

Snooker is played on a different table than billiards. I remember the father of the family I stayed with in Ireland was always watching snooker.
