Sometimes entire movies are told in the few pixels of a corner.

Do you think James Cameron would be happy if we watched Avatar and few pixels in each corners were missing?

I'm pretty sure James Cameron would be unhappy that your watching his movies in a window on a desktop rather than on a big screen like it was intended.

If these missing pixels bother you, go full screen. Ive checked, they are there in full screen mode. I mean c'mon! this is just silly.

I have the right to see all pixels if I pay for the upgrade. Therefore i want all pixels when looking at videos.

HAhahahaha. That's like saying I have a right to a V10 engine if I buy a Honda Civic. Sorry, it's just not made that way.

People will complain about anything. CMD + F solves your problem.

Yeah but then smaller videos will be pixelated.

Sorry few pixels or not it's my right to see all pixels if i want. Once again Apple is offering no options for users (sure i could install Qt7 but i want it to work in Qt-X).

Reminds me of the Safari tabs debacle. I loved the tabs on top and yet Apple gave no options to us when they suddenly decided to switch them back down.

One simple damn checkbox, how hard is that?

Maybe it's a harder choice to leave it out, than leave it in.

You have to be kidding...

That's why they make other programs to do things, if you don't like how one program does it, you use a different program. You don't have any "Rights" to whine and cry about a program not doing something you want it to do.

There are many options to solve your problem. You're just making a impossible deal about it.

I regard Quicktime-X (now fully pro) as a professional video player and from such i can expect all pixels of my videos displayed.

Please leave the rounded corners to the iPhone or at least give me a checkbox so i can decide myself.

Actually, you do. You can whine and cry all day about a program not doing something. But you don't have the right for a program to do a certain thing for you.

iPhone videos don't play with rounded corners.

Quicktime is free, so you can't expect it to do everything you would like it to do. There are MANY ways to solve your problem, use one and stop beating a dead horse.

I pay for Aperture a professional photographers program, so i guess i should expect it to do everything i want it to do? Damn these software companies not writing their programs not to solve world hunger and not do all the things I want in 1 program.:p

Huh?

Whatever...

Let the guy have his pixels. Why are they missing anyway? Does it serve any purpose? I'm guessing this is one of Apple's coders run amuck that chose style over functionality.

Complain to people who can actually do something...

Anybody know if you can change settings in Quicktime-X so the corners aren't rounded?

My pixels are precious. If i pay for movies and tv shows and just for anything professional I need the extra pixels in the corners.

Anyone know?

Just curious, but what kind of TV do you have? If you have a regular (CRT) TV then you better go ahead and call your TV manufacturer because they are cutting off pixels all the way around the picture with something called "overscan." And I bet you never noticed.

I mean should I call all of the movie studios and complain because their widescreen movies don't use all of the pixels on my widescreen TV (black bars on top and bottom)

Snow. Leopard.

Let's not make this another "iPod touch", shall we?

And you should probably wait until people actually get the software before expecting help. :p;)

Thank you TS. I hate it when people call the iPod touch the iTouch.

So they call Quicktime-X pro (now that the pro features are in) but steal my pixels so the corners can be prettier?

If you are so big on QuickTime X being "pro" then why don't you act professional and call Snow Leopard by its real name "Snow Leopard." Because "Snow Kitty" is far from professional for someone who demands something that they consider to be professional, a measly handful of pixels on each corner. Personally "Snow Kitty" sounds like something a 5 year old would say. I don't know how old you are but if you are old enough to demand the professionalism of a few extra pixels then I believe you are old enough to act mature and stop being impossible. Yes you have the right to complain about the rounded corners, but plenty of users have given you options to temporarily or permanently fix your problem. And if you are this desperate to get you pixels back then why don't you go complain to someone who can actually do something about it...APPLE :apple:!!!

Here's a link to the QuickTime feedback page on Apple's website- http://www.apple.com/quicktime/feedback/

Complain away to them!!

It's called exaggeration...

Why are people so deadly serious about a view pixels in each corner missing due to being rounded? when everyones already given several alternatives to fix the issue...:)

But in OP's defense; Editing at a major VFX house, we must absolutely see every pixel of a video we watch, and it's no secret Quicktime is the 2nd most popular option for professional video next to Avid. It is stupid, but there will most likely be some hack when it goes public.

Maybe this isn't pertinent to the corner problem... but does anybody know what the export options are?

I've heard there are now exclusive iPhone/iPod and YouTube settings and no other options for exporting. If correct, This means no more exporting any sort of professional video with Quicktime. Which is a horrible thing.

At our facility, exporting files with QT is a huge part of the job. It's way better than FCP or Compressor for exporting frame sequences and losing this ability is, well, ********. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Can I just ask one thing? What type of director would put important parts of a movie in the tiny corners of the screen? Are you REALLY missing that part of the movie? Do you watch a movie and look at the corners the whole time?

Also, just go full screen. Why are you watching movies in a little floating window anyway?

The famous Spaz telling you that you're a whiner.

That's the grand slammer right there. Snow Kitty lover, you fail at the internet.

Quicktime 7 Pro is still available if you really want/need it

And everyone wonders why it took so long for the election results in Florida.

Maybe the pixels are hanging!

command-F. problem solved, quit whining. and its SNOW LEOPARD, not a "itouch or snow kitty"

So they call Quicktime-X pro (now that the pro features are in) but steal my pixels so the corners can be prettier?

No they don't. It got a couple of QT7P's features, but not all of them, and they never called it pro.

Thanks, nice to see i'm not the only one
