Snow Leopard search is awful

Does Snow Leopard improve this situation at all????

NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Snow Leopard is awful. Anyone who flames me and says "well I don't have any problem, why would you want to search for 1 year old files anyway?" doesn't understand.

How could Apple release an OS where I am looking right at a file, but can't find it in spotlight. And search in contents is completely broken. I thought windows search was bad. I have always loved my Mac for it's ability to find files. Search 5 gb of files for a substring. in seconds it's done. Not any more. Whyyyyyy?

Thankfully, Grep still works. Don't screw that one up, Apple.

For finding files I use the free EasyFind from Devon-Technologies. It does what I wish Spotlight would do.

Snow Leopard Spotlight

The desktop spotlight in 10.6.7 takes 3-5 min to find an mp3 file. In 10.4.1 it finds it before I have finished typing in the name. Pathetic. How can they have completed screwed up something that has previously worked so well to having it completely broken.

It works in less than a second for me. It sounds like it could be an issue with your machine.
