Snow Leopard can't push contacts to MobileMe/iCloud anymore?

Whenever I try to check that box to sync my computer, it just tries for a moment, then gives up. It can't register my computer for some reason. Don't even tell me Apple dropped MobileMe support immediately upon the release of iCloud! Am I doing something wrong?
