before you can double click on a word and look up in dictionary with the word looked up already.
but now when you double click on word and select look up in dictionary, you have to physically enter the word again..

is it just me?

The dictionary is working fine for me. Something you may wish to try (depending on how you use the dictionary look up) is setting the contextual menu item to open the dictionary panel instead of the dictionary application. It's a preference in the Dictionary app.

I'm not actually sure if this will help, though, since I'm not having this issue.

Working fine on mine.

Not sure why it's being funky for you. As an asid, try Cmd Ctrl D when your cursor is over a word you want to look up, and it will pop up the floating definition the second poster referred to. From here you can link to Dictionary app if you like for further information.

Ok, i meant it works when I use safari, but when using pages, it doesn't work

Same symptoms. Pages does not like Dictionary

I have exactly the same problem. Did you ever find a solution?
