I am running Snow Leopard on my Late 2007 Macbook. Specs in sig. It runs GREAT on it. I have 4GB though. I was actually shocked on how much better it is now. It runs better than the first day I got it new.

It boots up faster. When I used to log in before, it would take about 5-10 seconds for all the icons to appear on top by the Airport, Bluetooth, etc. When I'd mouse over the dock, which had magnify turned on, it would stutter sometimes, etc. Double clicking "Macintosh HD" would be a 1-2 second delay.

This is what it was like with a 2 year old factory install of Leopard. If I left it on, of course it would be faster because everything would be loaded and cached up.

Anyway, with Snow Leopard, after log in, the desktop appears and is ready to go right away. All menu bar icons are there, no beachball and if I mouse over the dock, it magnifies and the mouse rolls over the dock icons smoothly. If I click on Macintosh HD (finder) it opens quickly and doesn't hesitate.

Programs launch faster too and I highly recommend it.

Hi there. I've also got a MacBook 4,1.

2.1 GHz Core 2 Duo with 4Gb of Ram.

I can also confirm that Snow Leopard runs very smooth indeed. Although I never had any problems with Leopard on this machine either.
