I read a lot of places the method to download the SL. What I want to know that I already have a backup system for my leopard and now if I download the SL, will it change my time machine backup..or it will overwrite it....Just dont know what is going to happen...

Snow Leopard will continue to use your existing backup.

so, you cannot expect to install snow leopard clean full erase and then restore everything but snow leopard from backup right?

I'm not sure if that's possible. But it would be nice if it was. Otherwise if I choose to copy from my Time Machine Backup after installing SL fresh I'm probably going to pick up Leopard files I don't want.
