So I’m still having this same dilemma.

I just cannot decide if I want to go with a silver aluminum 45mm, or a stainless 41 (due to weight I really can’t do both), or keep this starlight aluminum 41 another year.

I love the look of the SS, but think I could really benefit from the larger screen as well since my eyes aren’t getting any younger.

I posted about this some months back, but hope to get some fresh input now that the 8s are here.

I would go into the apple store and try them both out and then maybe try out a 45mm model and return in the first 14 days and see if you can get used to it? If not return it and keep or upgrade to s8 (but I don’t think that’s worth upgrading just keep your 41mm for another year unless you really want the stainless)

Bigger screen and larger battery I would say, although I would consider not upgrading unless your battery has degraded on your existing watch. Very disappointed in the 8, this was earmarked as my upgrade year from my 5 but it really offers nothing to me (and the ultra is just too ugly for me)

The ultra isn’t bigger screen it’s so minor you won’t notice it’s the bezels and case that are bigger

Exact same situation for me except I’m on the series 4.

Yeah the bezels of the Ultra are crazy. The Ultra is not meant for people looking for a bigger screen it’s meant for people that intend to use them or in the elements.

For many this will be a supplemental watch.

Buy both models that you’re interested in. Try them out for a few days and keep either or none of them based on your preference. Honestly, in my opinion the 8s are totally missable.

Agreed - wouldn’t consider it if I hadn’t been wanting to change the size or change to SS. Honestly, I’m not sure I’ll even upgrade at all.

Consider keeping the S7 and perhaps get one of those Ultra bands to refresh the look of your watch.

Will those work with the smaller watches?

There are a couple of the new colors on other bands I like, so I may just buy bands and call it a day.

Oh right, yours is 41mm. It wouldn’t fit. I’m sorry.

What about considering the 45mm Ti S7 models then? You get a larger screen without sacrificing lightweight?

I agree that you should go to the store and try them on. For me, the question is wrist size. 45mm is just too big on my wrist. It if works on your wrist, and to your eyes the larger screen makes a big difference, then, of course, get the 45. But, really, with the new edge-to-edge bevel, you may find that the 41mm is just fine. And the latest watch OS gives us AW lovers a lot of options to make what you see on the watch bigger—like fonts. So you may not need to get a bigger watch to get the bigger view you're after.

I have a 41, and I like it just fine. I’ve wanted SS for a while, and considered going for it now because I really like the full screen and features.

However I do think the 45 would give me better readability, and it would be easier to respond to things on the watch when needed.

I have thought and rethought about this for a flipping year - just cannot decide.

FYI my wrist is small, but I know there are people on here wearing size 2 solo loops that have 45mm watches. I wear a size 5 solo loop, although it doesn’t fit super snugly - I can’t handle that. I measure a 4 .
