This is what we should understand from Apple?
Owning an XS Max is so Amateurish suddenly?
Dear planet earth, prepare for the invasion of at least 100.000.000 Pros in the next year!
Now that's innovation.

Its just a marketing thing, always has been. I think they even referenced it in the keynote, something along the lines of Pro meaning its for people who want the very best features on their iPhone.

Not sure if you're fishing though!

It’s marketing, anyone that wants to make money does it. If you are daft enough to fall for it then it’s down to you. What did you expect?

What entitles someone to be a pro? Should I use it only to make work related phone calls? label a phone as pro is silly... given apple way to label things, MacBooks for example.

iPhone X was perhaps the only 'Pro' model for its release year.

Everything since has been really good, but somewhat lacking in features or performance Pros would expect, which were available in competitor phones.

It means we finally have some consistency in naming across all of Apple's product lines. Pro is simply their way of defining the top-tier product with all of the best features. It's consistent now from iPhones to iPads to Mac. Last year's iPhone names were a cluster-*.
