I'm getting really sick of having to sign on and reactivate every single TV app all of the time... seems like I have to re-sign on between every 1 to 3 weeks... It's annoying.

Regardless of single sign on... why do I have to keep re-activating and signing onto these apps?

That's odd.I've had mine since launch And I've never been prompted to sign on after the first time. Of course I only have Netflix and PBS,so It may be a provider thing and not apple.

Not sure about PBS but with Netflix you either authenticate directly with Netflix or iTunes. This is completely different then the single sign on with your provider that is being discussed. I.E. Now you have to go to your browser and enter a url like www.cnn.go/activate and enter the code from the ATV and then enter you provided credentials (after you find it in the list).

I do not use the Apps with my FIOS login very often because I do not want to watch commercials but I do have to frequently need to re-login if I want to use them. This may happen when I they update the app or the Apple TV gets updated. Anyway Single Sign-on will be a huge improvement.

It seems like every time I use a network app it makes me re-activate. I hesitate to even use them for this reason. so annoying.

Nearly the same experience here. I have to reactivate very often. It's been like this since day 1. It's terrible.

Different providers have different timeouts on their tokens. For example: Fox in the browser makes me sign in with Comcast every day, yet Vue went about a month before prompting for credentials.

Either way it's a total pain.

SSO for video apps will be great, but I want to see this taken to the next level. Rather than asking me to sign on from each device separately, how about linking this to my  ID so that credentials automatically flow down to any device where I am signed in! This could/should apply to anything I subscribe to rather than just the cable provider SSO. Imagine setting up credentials to your Netflix, Hulu, and other accounts from the web interface or from within iTunes on Windows/Mac machines... then those apps immediately offer access on all your devices. Now THAT would make it a simple process.

I echo the frustrations with constant reauthentication.

My admittedly cynical mind thinks that the networks and tv providers like there to be small friction points like this to using Apps as they want to try to live in the past and get people to stay as long as possible with traditional cable/sat subscriptions and leasing each tv box, etc

Same with any apps not supporting AirPlay/TV Out with a cable and adapter from iOS devices.

That does not sound normal to me. Something's wrong.

I've had the ATV4 almost since day 1 and I've had to re-login to one app once. That alone irritated me, so I cannot imagine having to do it for all the apps every week.
