I think Neo is Budget / Basic computingI do wonder what Apple plans for the macbook air, as when the Neo gets 12 GB of RAM next cycle, the Air is in this precarious position where its probably way more machine than casual users need, and if you’re doing properly heavy workload you probably should step to a Pro.
Then again, the cost to step up to a pro is not insignificant.
Maybe the next Macbook air will focus again on thin-ness and lightness. Because right now i feel its just sort of in this middle ground where its overkill for most people but for those who need power (i.e., using the machine to make money)… a macbook pro offers significantly more.
The Air is the Prosumer option and for people who need decent power but don't want to lug around the weight of the Pro
Then the Pro is for people where absolute power is the priority
I can see Apple giving the Air a better screen in the future and also upping the price a little as they don't need to hit that budget entry price point anymore and im more then happy for that to happen as the display is the Airs only real weakness imo.
