So can i unlock my 2G iphone now?

I got a 3GS yesterday and want to sell my 2G and want to unlock it. Does redsn0w make that possible or is it still waiting to be unlocked. I no it doesnt unlock 3G iPhone but I thought 2G can be unlocked whenever.
