Be careful though, as WatchOS tend to slow the sync speed or halt the syncing altogether. I have yet to find an effective solution to restart syncing without resetting the watch or unpairing.

I see, thank you.

Simple, I bought a SBSS watch for the space black stainless, the look and the durability. the sapphire crystal is also nearly scratch proof and was a huge reason. the bonus of having a ceramic back plate and 16gb were also worth it. i have no intention of using LTE.

Yikes SS is like $1200 I'll stick with the $399. I want it for fitness and step to count my workouts.

Are you serious?

Hopefully they clear up the syncing issues.

I got it for the red dot.

J/K I haven't gotten one yet.

But when I do, it'll be because of the red dot.

Mine was $649 (42mm) with the sport band...

I bought for all the additional features and quality mentioned above and wasn't going to enable LTE. Ended up enabling it anyway and am seeing if I use it during the 90-day free trial.

SBSS in 42mm was $649 for me. Thats a $250 premium over aluminum but is essentially scratch proof, both case and crystal. it also has the 16gb storage and in my opinion looks much nicer. a watch to an extent is jewelry and i don't mind spending the extra.

Ok I don’t know what I was looking at then lol

The original, first-gen Space Black Apple Watch came with the matching Space Black stainless steel link bracelet, and yes, that combo was around $1200.00. Now the watch is available from Apple only with a black sports band and the Space Black stainless steel link bracelet is apparently no longer available for purchase at all. Too bad, as it is really an elegant link bracelet. I think I paid around $600 for my 38mm Space Black stainless steel Series 3 watch this fall. I immediately set aside the sports band and put my beloved SBSS link band on the new watch. Although my first-generation watch is still going strong I was concerned that Apple might make changes in the watch the next time around or not offer the Space Grey stainless steel model any more at all, so wanted to grab one this year while I still could.

I finally picked up an AW3 at the weekend after months of talking myself into and out of buying one. I ended up getting the black 42mm SS LTE version as I wanted the more durable SS finish.

Its disappointing that only EE are a suitable carrier in the UK for the AW otherwise I'd probably pay the £5 a month extra but alas, I'm happy to not use the LTE feature.

There's a story on the "front page" today on runaway Apple Watch sales in 2017. In spite of its late introduction date, the S3 watches were 48% of all AW sales, and ~27% of S3 sales were LTE models. Apple is reportedly now shipping more watches than the entire Swiss watch industry.

I think I’ll go with the aluminum. I’m really looking to get it for running, dog walking, gym work out, and Pilates tracking.

I’ll probably put a skin or something for protection.

Ya I saw that. Took me 3 years to finally get interested in one for fitness reasons lol. Don’t care to use it to read news or messaging. Maybe I’ll change my mind about messaging functions when I finally get it. I like the gps function and how I can use it to run and leave my big phone, but at least I can call 911 in case.

I bought it because I wanted a Sport Loop, and picking up the non-LTE plus the loop was only about £30 cheaper.

£30 for LTE capability if I ever needed it, ceramic back and 16GB storage seemed worth it to me. Oh, and the Explorer face!

Definitely a case of want vs. need, I had just done a bit of extra work so had some money to spend. In all likelihood, I'd notice zero difference day-to-day if I bought the GPS model.

I really want the 16gb for extra music storage and podcast.

On swappa they have pretty good deals for lte 38mm watches. I’m gonna buy there.

My only use for the AW is health/fitness. I like the lighter weight of the aluminum when my arms are moving around. I worried some about banging it up - I bump into things and take corners closely. I bought AC+ because I was sure I'd smash the display - but haven't. I had a plastic case for it for cycling but I have had a fall or two (ahem) since I got the watch and it hasn't hit the pavement yet. The case made phone calls almost impossible, in spite of cutouts, btw/fwiw.

Ya it annoys me when I use the treadmill and my steps aren’t counted because my phone isn’t on me lol.

Ya I’m a guy and I want the 38mm because it’s smaller. I usually wear big watches but I can imagine it would be annoying wearing a big watch when working out.

Does your case cover the watch face?

Under the watch face is where the LTE antenna grid is located.

Actually, If you Re-read Newellj Post again, it has Nothing to do with the antenna. The Post specifically Noted the "Cutouts", which is referring to the location of the Speaker/Microphone area causing the interference, not the antenna.

I’m trying to decide this myself. I have a 3 year old S0 now that’s still in great shape and condition, no scratches on the back and I don’t use it for music so I’m wondering if that extra $30 is worth it over the GPS model.
