okay, so go me! i just bought a dual 2.5 g5... a nice upgrade from my dual 500 G4. So today, I am working on copying over files from the G4. I have the G4 plugged into the front panel firewire port on the G5, and I have my iPod Photo connected to the back of the G5. I start up both machines after installing some stuff on the G5 and to take the G4 out of target disk mode. Upon restart, The G5 doesn't see the iPod... but the G4 does, and mounts it on the desktop and opens iTunes!!!! System Profiler on the G5 shows a Mac and an Ipod on the firewire bus but won't connect to either. But it doesn't actually "see" the iPod. If I disconnect the firewire cable between the two macs, everything goes back to normal.

so i guess the firewire on the G5 is pass-through??? Why is this happening? does anyone know anything about this?
