so frustrating....powerbook memory

I recommend against using anything other than a proper-sized screwdriver. I bought mine for six bucks at Radio Shack. If you use a knife, you may strip the screw, and then you'll be in a much more frustrating bind than you are currently in. A little patience now will save you major headaches later. Do what I did when I needed to open an iBook. Bring the computer TO the hardware store and try out all of the screwdrivers they have. Found a screwdriver for $3... no problem.
Go to a jewellers store. I used watch screw drivers and they work a treat. they are normally use to adjust bracelets etc. Explain the situation and they'll be able to help you and it should cost you a penny, or dime as the case may be. Good luck!

well i just tried 2 more eye glass places and 1 jewlery store, all about 1.5miles away from eachother....i have blisters on my feet, so im just going to pay the money for a taxi to the mall to go to the apple "mini" store....are you guys POSITIVE they will be able to sell me a little screwdriver to open up my powerbook? or do i have to bring my powerbook with me (i dont have apple care) for them to do it (even though i dont see them doing this)

Dude... you need to calm down. It really isn't that BIG of a deal. All you need to do is to either go to your nearest hardware store the Apple "mini" store.

I used a small flathead screwdriver to get the screws started, then swapped over to the Phillips.
