Do what I did when I needed to open an iBook. Bring the computer TO the hardware store and try out all of the screwdrivers they have. Found a screwdriver for $3... no problem.

Go to a jewellers store. I used watch screw drivers and they work a treat. they are normally use to adjust bracelets etc. Explain the situation and they'll be able to help you and it should cost you a penny, or dime as the case may be. Good luck! :D

like i said.......im at college, no means of transportation......only way is to walk and nearest hardware store is a few miles away and there arent many jewlers in syracuse......

ask the girls in the dorm for their metal nail file
the tip is the perfect size for the screws and strong enough for a man
thats what I use with my PB

That sucks, I had a similar situation in college. I guess wait till tomorrow? You got a friend that can drive you? Remember just a hardware store. They got the small of screw drivers you'll need ;)

well i just tried 2 more eye glass places and 1 jewlery store, all about 1.5miles away from eachother....i have blisters on my feet, so im just going to pay the money for a taxi to the mall to go to the apple "mini" store....are you guys POSITIVE they will be able to sell me a little screwdriver to open up my powerbook? or do i have to bring my powerbook with me (i dont have apple care) for them to do it (even though i dont see them doing this)

I'm sure they won't sell you a screwdriver since I've never seen one for sale in an Apple store. But if you take your Powerbook and ask nicely at the Genius Bar, they might open it up for you.

Why don't you buy the 4-in-1 that I gave you the link for? I assure you it worked on my Powerbook and Mum's iBook

Dude... you need to calm down. It really isn't that BIG of a deal. All you need to do is to either go to your nearest hardware store the Apple "mini" store.

for you to have blisters on your feet for a powerbook is a little insane.

Just calm down ;)

You'll get the RAM in sooner or later.

I used a small flathead screwdriver to get the screws started, then swapped over to the Phillips.
