yikes i hope you can get those optical drives fixed quickly.

still, i think i'll be picking one up later this summer. i think i'll let tiger mature a little more, til 10.4.2 or .3...

Hmm, that's good to know since I bought the base model and have gotten a fair amount of beachballs. I was going to wait until I needed more HD space to get extra RAM put in at the same time, but I might take it back to Apple sooner (I'm not opening it up myself!) once I have enough $ saved. Within a year in any case.

There are times when I definitely hear the fans but usually only when running certain programs (particularly P2P file sharing). Otherwise it's pretty quiet, so no real complaint. :) I love my iMac!
