A few more years I hope, since I have one :)

I've considered getting a new M2 Mac Mini a few times but just keep hearing constantly issues with 10Gb NIC not supporting 10Gb speeds, HDMI port interfering with WiFi, flaky WiFi speeds, poor bluetooth range, no intel virtualisation support for VMs, and then there is the apple storage pricing.

To replace my Intel Mac Mini (6-pCore CPU, 32GB RAM, 1TB Storage) with an M2 Pro Mac Mini of similar spec (10-Core CPU, 16GB RAM, 1TB Storage), is going to cost £1500~. Upgrade not big enough for what I use my mac mini for, I will see what the M3 ones look like in October. It would be great if Apple Silicon supported Intel VT-x so I can boot my Win3.1/95 VMs to play some old games.

Bought my 2018 i5 at launch in 2018, had the motherboard replaced under warranty, still works flawlessly. The fans gear up more than I’d like but for music production so far it’s still killing it. I’m at a certain age where unless it dies, I don’t see myself ever replacing it. At least for the next ten years. If George rr Martin can write novels on a PC from 1991, there’s no reason I have to replace this. Struck gold with the motherboard replacement, computer still flies no matter what I throw at it.
