I have done lots and lots of research on these MacBook Pros but clearly not enough. I have researched hardware and if final cut pro x will work with .mts files and a whole host of other stuff. i failed to realise though that these machines don't ship with iWeb anymore. #fail

I called Apple Care, and the nice folks on the other side of the phone said they would send me an iLife disk free of charge as a good will gesture.

Thumbs up for backing me up in my moment of fail. Well done Apple.

    Would Microsoft do this?

Why should they, they don't make PCs, only the OS and some software, that comes with it. Thus they would never be in the position of sending you something free of charge.
